Tammera Schmalz, PhD

Dr. Tammera Schmalz, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist that has continuously provided warm, dependable, and unwavering psychological care to her clients for over 30 years in Calvert County, Maryland. Dr. Schmalz serves as the pillar of CNBH; she conducts thorough neuro-psychological evaluations in tandem with the EEG data that we collect to determine clinical correlations that guide the treatment of almost all of CNBH’s clients. In addition but by no means limited, she assists in planning 504 accommodations for home and school, and is a reliable provider of educational resources and referrals.

Sarah Zinchiak, CRNP, is not just your average Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner. She is a graduate of the esteemed West Virginia University, where her passion for improving the well-being of individuals took root. Sarah brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the practice, making her the ideal provider for your medical needs. Having completed her rigorous education and training at the renowned Chesapeake Neurology Associates, a pillar of medical excellence in Calvert County for over 30 years, Sarah has cultivated a deep understanding of a wide range of medical conditions. She was fortunate to train under the guidance of the late Dr. Harry Kerasidis, MD, whose expertise has truly shaped her approach to patient care. Alex Kuo, LCSW-C

Alexandria Kuo is an LCSW-C, or a Licensed Certified Social Worker – Clinical. She received her BSW at Salisbury University, her MSW at Catholic University of America in 2016, and has had her independent license since 2018. Alex has experience working with adults, adolescents, and children, though is specifically trained with adolescent girls ages eight to eighteen. These relationships are based on an individual practice setting, though a family approach is always in mind. She has a certificate in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, which is the approach most often used with her clients but still has experience with Family Structural, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and various other theoretical approaches. Understanding emotional clinical needs stemming between physiological and psychological conditions, empowerment and compassion are main components facilitated in session to achieve mental wellness.

Danielle Anderson, LCPC

Danielle Anderson, LCPC is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She received her M.S. in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University Maryland in 2013, and her B.A. in Psychology from James Madison University in 2011. As part of the staff at Chesapeake Neurology Associates, Ms. Anderson provides outpatient therapy to adults, families, adolescents, and children using various treatment modalities. Ms. Anderson’s clinical interests include treatment for depression and anxiety, stress management, anger management, adjustment issues, self-esteem, social skills, and divorce and separation .

David Ims, LCPC, BCN, Q-EEGD

P. David Ims, LCPC is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Maryland with a passion for the intersection of mental health and applied neuroscience. He spent 10 years as an EEG technologist in hospital and then outpatient settings, where he developed a skillset in electroencephalography and neuro-therapeutic techniques. This experience working with brain activity and daily observation of its correlation with human behavior and emotion directed towards his graduate study in clinical psychology to practice integrating these complementary disciplines. He specializes in working with individuals recovering from concussion and mild traumatic brain injury and males in childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood by integrating a brain-oriented approach in his therapeutic model. His approach to therapy incorporates elements of cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, and person-centered therapy. David is a frequent presenter on topics of QEEG, neurofeedback, and other brain-based therapies in professional training and community outreach settings.

Amye Scrivener, LCSW-C

Amye Scrivener, LCSW–C is a social worker in Southern Maryland. She has an expansive knowledge of the disciplines of neurofeedback therapy, talk-based therapies such as CBT and DBT, and the clinical application of various modalities of neuromodulation/PEMF. Amye has been an indispensable, long-standing asset to CNBH, providing neuro-psychological services to children and adults from many cultural backgrounds.
